Jack O Lantern Saver!

I just wanted to share a quick tidbit about how to save your pumpkins that have been carved. My sis-in-law Becca told me about this, and boy was she right!

To keep your carved pumpkins from shrinking up and turning brown : Just smear Vaseline on every cut surface, and on the whole inside, and lid. Supposedly it makes the life of your jack o lantern 4 times as long.

Reese carved her pumpkin three day's ago, and I did the vaseline trick, and it's not showing even a little bit of browning, or wrinkling.

Just thought I'd share - Happy Carving!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is definitely one of my favorite holidays. Last Week I had a mom and miss party for my activity days calling at church.

Unluckily for me, the three ladies, who are in my calling as well, were released the week before. Luckily for me one of them (Jamie Hansen) was nice enough to help me even though she was released.
I really wanted it to be cute, she brought a lot of decorations, and I brought everything I had. I think it really turned out cute. We had an area set up to take pictures of the moms and girls, which you saw up on top. Everyone came dressed up. I got home from Disneyland and went into a cooking frenzy, but I think it turned out ok.

This I think is my favorite cake I've made so far. I used a pumpkin choc chip recipe, my mom gave me. I think from now on I'll do something like that, instead of a cake mix. It seems like it's good to have it taste good as well as be cute. I used two bunt cakes on top of each-other, by the way, if you want to copy, it. I think it turned out cute.
Sorry I know this is ugly, but in the spirit of halloween, I had to put in on.
We went up to my mom and dad's this week, to do pumpkins. This was the first year Reese could somewhat do it. She thought it was so much fun.

Just a random note, when I was little I used to dress in a ton of layers, it would drive my mom nuts. Reese came up wearing all this the other day. Skull and cross bone socks, brown pants, an orange terry cloth skirt, an orange tulle skirt, a striped long sleeved shirt, a yellow hooded shirt, and a orange terry cloth hooded vest. I had to get photographic evidence. She is definitely my child.
Hope you all have fun Halloweening this weekend!

Disney Land Part 2!

I told you there were more to come, and I wasn't kidding. Here's the kids outside Toads.
I think we're a little big for this car, but oh well.
The Kuchenmeisters, minus Ryan. Ryan had to ride with us/Reese.
We love the Haunted House, especially for Halloween when they have it all decorated.

Toon Town is always kind of Lame, but for kids it's kind of fun.
Of course we had to go see mickey, although Reese saw him the day before. He kissed her head and she loved that.
Jeremy took Reese in the cars and she drove. Apparently she did pretty good.
She danced around with Mary Poppins and Burt for a minute, I thought that was cute.
Another picture of us in weird glasses. She didn't like the part where it feels like the bugs go under your bum, although I had tried to warn her. It was cute to watch her think the 3D things were going to touch her, she would try and grab at the air.
Every single night, she would full-on pass out, from having too much fun, and being dragged around a little more than she is used to. This night she took a little nap around 6:00 and then she had enough energy to keep going.
The last day we ate breakfast at Goofy's kitchen, this was really fun. They had pretty good food and there were characters walking around saying hi to all the kids. Reese got to dance with Goofy, I think she really liked it.

We've never gone over to the pirate island before, but it was fun.
Reese loves walking on bridges, and sometimes it's fun to just explore instead of waiting in lines for more rides.

The very last night the Jeremy's sister and her family came and got us from Disneyland. We went and ate at Philippe's the home of the french dip sandwich. Later we took the kids to a babysitter and went out to dinner with Kris and Ashley.
Had to get a picture of all the kids in their glow in the dark skeleton jammies. Reese loved staying at their house. Later I asked her what her favorite part of the trip was, and she said "Ryan." I think she had so much fun being able to play with the boys. It was so nice to stay at their house.

Reese's favorite part, (other than Ryan) was splash mountain, I don't know why this video is showing up so little. We thought she would be scared, but she thought it was so funny to get splashed. Luckily she was tall enough to go on almost everything. We even took her on Tower of Terror. (Which she said "I don't want to go on that again.") But she did so good. It was such a fun trip. She was so good. Thanks also to family for watching Rylee for us. Of course she started crawling while we were gone, I just knew that was going to happen. We came home and she crawled across the room to me. And she had poked out another tooth! We missed her a lot! But it was such a fun trip, we're so lucky to have been able to go!

Disney Land Part 1!

In the essence of time, and due to the huge number of pictures, I'm going to split our trip into a couple of posts.
This was Reese's first trip on a plane, she did really good. In case you noticed we're missing a member of the family, you're right. We left Rylee at home with family. And apparently didn't miss us at all. Underneath is a pic of us on the Jungle cruise.
Got to get one in front of the big Mickey.

On the 2nd day we were there, we met up with the Kuchenmeisters (who live in CA) Reese loved to ride on every ride with Ryan. Although I felt bad because Ethan wanted to play with Reese so bad, and she just wouldn't give him the time of day.
There's a lot of pictures of us with the stylin' glasses. This is the new Toy Story ride.

This is Sulley, from Monsters Inc. for those of you who don't watch kid's shows.
You have to get a pic of the letter that your name starts with.
This is the first day, Reese had been up since 6:00 am. She just crashed, and there was no waking her no matter what we did. She slept through the fireworks, and all the way back to the hotel, and even getting her into her pajamas. Apparently it had been a long day.

This is waiting for the old Michael Jackson movie, she doesn't look like it but she's about to pass out from having so much fun.
We were nervous she was going to be too afraid to go on any rides, but she did so good. We took her on everything. She loved splash mt. This was her first time, look at her face. She looks a little worried. But she thought it was so funny that we got wet!
The first day, we paid extra to stay in the park and trick or treat. It was so worth it, because we were able to walk right on the everything.

They had little trick or treat stations, Reese loved it.
The longest line we waited in the first two days was definitely Pixie hollow. But at least she got a pic with Tinker Bell. I think we wouldn't have been able to come home without one.

That covers about the first day and a half, there's more to come :)
