TO TRAIN OR NOT TO TRAIN?
Reese has been acting very interested in the potty process, and she has been telling me when she needs to go. So I thought I would go get a potty and just let her get used to it.By the way I love this one because it actually looks like a toilet. I have to admit that it is a bit like a toy, but oh well. We have had it for two days and she went poo poo in it today(sorry if that is T.M.I.) But I am trying to decide if it is too early or not. I feel like if we are going to do it we've got to get serious and do it. But I think that maybe if she is older she would be better at it. At least if we wait, she'll be able to talk more and that might be a bonus. I'd love everyone's ideas, and tips. I think I have already talked myself into waiting, but should I leave the potty out so she can get used to it, or should I hide it for a while? Decisions, Decisions.

That is THE CUTEST toilet ever!!! Where did you get it?? I have no advice on potty training, but everyone says the kid will tell you when he or she is ready, so I say go for it.
That is so cute! I think that if she is acting interested then do it! I hear that girls are a lot easier to train. My sister says that if you are going to train that shouldn't go back and forth between diapers and panties switch and don't go back.
I don't have much advice since Anna isn't potty trained. I am in the same predicament you are. She is showing interest so I went and got her a potty (not as cute as that one! Where did you get it?) but I just keep thinking she isn't really ready. She tells me she wants to sit on the toilet the second she is done pooping or peeing - how do you comprehend to a 21 month old the concept of 'before'. You need to tell me BEFORE you poop or pee. Haha. Good luck to you - I think you should do it...especially since she has already pooped in it! Way to go! And then give me all your advice when you are done ;)
That is so CUTE! She is such a cute girl Katie!
If she is acting interested, than at least try. Don't force her. Just led her lead you. The more you force it the harder it will be. But if you put it off since she is showing signs, it will take longer when you decide that you are ready. This is KariAnn's sister. Mother of two potty trained.
personally, i think if she's acting interested in it go for it. but, if you are going to do it, do it, don't switch back and forth between diapers and underwear. even pullups are bad in my opinion because they feel just like a diaper to them. when i trained cambree i used pullups at first and it just prolonged the process. she could have been trained long before she was if i would have listened to her and just did the underwear.
good luck
the potty is cute
Katie!
Hey, how are you? This is Carlee (Bruce). I found your blog from Megan Dinsdale's. Anyway, it's good to see you again and Reese is adorable!
That is the coolest freakin potty I have ever seen!!! Maybe Brennen would go more if he had an awesome one like that!
Ok I've had a few comments : the potty is called the fun and learn potty, by Fisher price. I think it was $32.00 ish. I got it at target, but you can get it at Walmart.
I think that is the cutest potty ever! I might have to come over and play with it a bit.. :) Like we were saying before i think you should go for it..
Well Scotty told me when he was ready, It sounds like Reese is telling you the same thing!!! Ok so that is a joke!! Sorry can't help you with this one, hopefully you will be able to tell me! Good Luck!
Hey katie! Thank you for your comments. Things have been a little crazy. Thank you for offering to help me out!! I'll let you know. :)
Also, I am in the same boat with Jayden. She actually walks herself to the potty and tells me she needs to go. I'll sit her on the potty when she does that, no luck yet. I figure, I am not pushing her to do it so you might as well start when they are actually interested in it.
