Rylee's Birthday!!

Well, it's official, she's not a baby anymore, She's 3! Rylee has been really into The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle for a long time. She has the whole thing memorized, and if you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she says "I'm going to be a big fat caterpillar!"

 So probably more than 6 months ago she told me she wanted her cake and birthday to be a big fat caterpillar birthday. She was surprisingly picky about how I made the cake. She also wanted it to say, Happy Birthday Rylee Kate Deamer, which I had to tell her, I just couldn't fit. So after a long conversation we compromised with just Rylee Kate.

 If you have read the book, the little caterpillar wakes up to the warm sun, and goes and eats his way through quite a bit of food, until he turns into a big fat caterpillar, and then a butterfly. All the pictures have this hand painted kind of look to them. So that is what I tried to recreate. I hand painted everything. I like how it turned out.

 When I made this caterpillar, Rylee came in and I said, "Rylee what do you think?" She looked at it and said, " It's not big enough." I had to tell her it's 7 and a half feet long. Also it couldn't be any bigger because our wall is only so big. (Good to know she's only 3 and already not impressed with my home made decorations.)

 I also made all the food that the caterpillar eats his way through.

 Right before the party, I was thinking, "Shoot I should have made something for the table." And I suddenly saw a little bit of green and red tissue paper. Since I didn't have a lot, I had to make them kind of small, but I thought it was  a cute little touch.

 Of course I had to have the warm sun, coming up.

 I made Rylee this caterpillar costume. (although you can't see it that great in this pic.) And my wonderfully talented mom, made the hat, which totally makes the whole thing.

 Oh, and one last caterpillar, out of balloons. Luckily I happen to live close to what seems like the only store that still has helium.

 And there she is with her cake! It was a fun party, thanks to all my family who indulges us in these little parties and comes. (By the way, later, when the caterpillar was up, Rylee was very excited about it, and had clearly forgotten that she had thought it was too small before.

Rylee is such a funny girl, and so smart. She speaks incredibly well, knows all her letters, and sounds, can count up to 30. Can also spell her own name, and tell you my phone number, and our address. She is so fun to have around, and I can't believe she is already 3!

Snow Caving

Ever since last year, Jeremy has been waiting for there to be enough snow to make a snow cave. And this year, it happened. The girls were so excited. 

 It was so huge, Jeremy worked so hard to make it for them.

 Here they are inside. Reese was sad though, because we never ended up sleeping in it. I have to say, I'm kind of glad, because I don't think Reese or Rylee could have made it through the night.

Christmas!

 Hello! If you've been wondering where I have been, it's just that we misplace the cord to transfer pictures to the computer. Luckily Jeremy found it this morning in his drawer. (I have no idea why I didn't think to look there :)

Ok on Christmas Eve, our little tradition that we started a couple of years ago, is to cook and decorate Santa's cookies. This was the first year that Rylee was able to help. (Tip: Put twisty ties around the end of your frosting bags, and then they can't squeeze frosting out the top.)

The girls love decorating the cookies, and I let them do it by them selves. The end result is not the prettiest cookies, but I don't care I'm not eating them, Santa is.

Here they are in their new jammies Gradma Darlene gave them. Ready to put out the carrots for Santa's reindeers.

Christmas morning. We actually don't have a lot of pictures form this event, because we were mostly taping instead. But here's Reese in her Merida dress.

 And Rylee in her princess dress. You can see all the wrapping all over the floor.

 Oh this one is slightly out of order. This is at Chery'ls house the night before when they got their jammies.

 Christmas morning at Grandma Darlene's house. I believe Grandma Darlene may have bought out the Disney store. All the girls got a lot of Disney dolls. Which was nice because I have to say, Reese didn't get a lot of toys from Santa, so it was perfect.

 And one last pic with all the kids in their christmas Jammies. It was impossible to get them all to look, but Reese and Rylee are smiling in this one. From the left we have, Ethan, then Grey, Hadley holding baby Harper, Reese and Rylee, in the back, and Kennedy, and Ryan in the front.

We did Christmas with my family the next day, because my sister was coming in from Australia. I have no pictures of that event though, because it was snowing so crazy bad we left early and I forgot my camera. Anyway, Christmas was great. I am so thankful that I had enough to be able to give the girls a good Christmas. I have to say the very best part was getting to spend so much time together. Jeremy was home and it was so nice! Merry Christmas.

Christmas Season

Ok, let's start this post off with some cute girls in some cute dresses. These dresses were a black friday deal that Grandma Deamer bought for the girls. They love them. (Although it could have been a potato sack in pink and they would have loved that it was pink and sparkly.)

Even though they are getting older, it's still hard to get a good picture, but I guess we got kind of decent ones.

Oh no! I didn't get one with Rylee and Jeremy, what was I thinking? And it doesn't even look like I was there, oh well. I was by the way.

Earlier that day, they had both gotten a webkins, and I should have made them put them down so I could take the picture, but clearly wasn't paying attention.

Now for Santa, I have said this a few times, but I'll say it again. This Santa that comes to Bicentennial Park in North Ogden is the best.

This was Rylee's first time sitting on Santa's lap without crying. She did ask for something that she wasn't going to get, but oh well, she seemed to forget. I apparently don't have a pic with just her and Santa, instead I took video.

This was that first good snow day in December. Reese had gone to a birthday party for her cousins. And I was trying to not let Rylee realize that she hadn't been invited. So when she asked to play in the snow, we went right out. Doesn't it look beautiful.

 I thought she wouldn't have much fun playing in the snow by herself, but she loved walking around, making tracks, and of course snow angels. She would stop a few times to pull on the branches, and the snow would fall on her. It was so cute.

Leafin' fun!

In the fall the girls had been begging to jump in some leaves, so as soon as there was a sunny day, I raked up a quick pile and the girls had so much fun.

 Of course, You can't play in a pile of leaves without mom taking a hundred pictures right?

 This is actually the only picture we took on Thanksgiving, last year Tayler had taken a picture of us. And I felt like it was something we should do again. I forget a lot to stop and have someone take a picture of us because we're always behind the camera.

 This is a completely different Leaf day, this time we were raking it all up. So my nieces were there as well.

 The best part of this day was Jeremy put up the Christmas lights.

 We were loading all the leaves in the truck to haul them away. The girls were in there smashing them down. I love this pic, Jeremy took it from up on the roof.

 Last year after Thanksgiving, Grandpa Creamer passed away. This is the one year anniversary of his passing. Jody and Darlene bought a pretty Christmas wreath and Jeremy took up some little pumpkins that he had grown in the garden. I thought this was such a neat picture.

I know that it is way past Thanksgiving, but I didn't post on time, and wanted to say quickly, that I am so thankful for Jeremy and for the girls. I love our family, and I am so thankful for our house and where we live. We are so lucky and so blessed, I hope all your thanksgivings went well.

Halloween!

I have to say that I am surprised at myself for getting this far behind. So sorry, but here we are, the Halloween costumes! We like to do it as a family, Jeremy and Reese came up with the idea for this year months and months ago. 

Rylee was Igor. (As in Dr. Frankenstien's assistant.) The cutest thing of the entire thing was that if you asked Rylee what Igor says she would lean over (to get a bit more hunchy) and say, in a scratchy voice, "Yes master." Poor girl said it about 100 times, but never seemed to be bothered by it. I think she liked the fact that it made everyone laugh.

 Reese was of course, Dr. Frankenstien, (aka mad scientist). Actually kind of surprising that both my girls were boys. And I have to say that all day people kept thinking that Rylee was a boy. Poor girl was wearing black and her hair was covered with a bald cap,  so you couldn't tell that she was a girl.

Reese would say, "Igor, pull the switch!" and Rylee would say, "Yes master."

 So of course, we had to have Frankenstien, which was Jeremy. So I was the bride of frankenstein. Although I didn't wear the wig that sticks straight up, but I was hoping that would still count.

 Here we are at Jeremy's aunt's house which is a family tradition to visit, before we go out trick or treating.

 Now this is them raising the monster. ( That's a good dad.)

 Jeremy was a good sport, with the makeup and scars and screws glued on his neck, I'm sure it was annoying, but he was great.
